I'm happy you're running this one soon! My thing has always been alcohol, and for me weed is one of those good/occasional/happy things... but in an IOP program i was in a couple of years ago, there was a guy whose cannabis addiction had totally taken over his life, in a really similar way that alcohol did for me. Neither of us had crazy party stories or DUIs or anything—we just retreated further into ourselves & away from real life and our families/friends. We were checking out of work, our hobbies, and most of the things that motivated us. It was just like a silencer on life. Really reminded me of how "normal" drinkers are confused by my relationship to alcohol—he said other people had a hard time believing the hold that weed had on him.

Hello. I just happened to come across your article. I didn't read every word of it, however, from the things I did see. I truly love what you're doing to help people to overcome their addictions. The only thing I did want to mention, is this. When I was in high school, we were messing around doing blood tests to see our blood types, etc. Then somehow, we got off on being addicted to drugs. All kinds of drugs. What they do, what happens when you do them, etc. To be honest, I had ONLY ever smoked weed and it did so much for me and I felt relaxed and at ease. If I even TRIED to give you a rundown of everything, it's truly a wonder I'm NOT addicted to all kinds of crap. Ha. However. My true point was/is this. Out of a very drug we were "around ", all of them were truly awful. And the side effects? Way worse! I wasn't even interested in finding out. Then, we got to weed. And that's where I learned there is NO possible way a person can become addicted to weed. It is scientifically impossible. There were a few days of proving things, however, I was truly shocked. Some years later, I was at a gas station and something caught my eye. It was a shot glass. On it, it says "God made Pot! Man made beer! WHO do YOU trust?" I bought that little shot glass. I thought it was a little funny. A little true. And I just wanted to share that weed is THE ONE "drug" that you physically cannot become addicted to. It was very interesting at that time. People may get grumpy b/c they run out, but, there are truly NO withdrawals from it. This other crap?? Truly harmful, and for EVERYONE fighting the good fight. I will say, KEEP IT UP!! YOU ARE AMAZING! AND NEVER LET ANYONE MAKE YOU FEEL LESS THAN AMAZING!! I've seen what addiction causes and does. I've dealt with death, finding them. And heartache from watching and trying to help. But, they didn't want to help themselves. In the end, it is YOU that has to make that choice. And you've made it!! I will rally on with everyone of you who CHOSE to take back their control! You are true heros!! Don't ever back down! Stand your ground and be PROUD!! I don't know if I said too much, and I'm not trying to step on anyone's feelings or make them think otherwise. I just happened to be a part of something, totally out of the norm and it was amazing. Our professor DID tell us that he was NOT recommending that we go out and score weed. However, he became involved in what WE had to say. And most teachers, don't bother to do that these days. So I wish every a single one of you the absolute BEST!! And know that I'm always thinking of you! It doesn't matter that we've never met. I've went through more loss than I can even imagine. So you can bet, I will cheer you on to victory!! Because you have CHOSEN, to Rise Above!! 💯💯💯🤎
